Annotation: The article is devoted to the topical issue of the influence of one of the family aspects on coping behaviour in adolescence. The work is a theoretical analysis of the concept of coping (getting-along) behaviour, and it also includes a description of the adolescent period. The article also contains empirical results of the study devoted to identifying the influence of sibling relationships on the coping style of adolescents. The main task solved in the work was to prove the hypothesis that sibling relationships have a direct impact on coping behaviour in adolescence. In a theoretical analysis of the issue, the authors note the presence of different points of view on the very concept of coping and its classification, however, the concept of Tat’yana Kryukova was taken as a basis. Analysing the material on the significant role of the family in the formation of coping in adolescents, the attention of the researchers was drawn to the position of sibling relations in this process. The study included a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the relationship between aspects of sibling relationships (empathy, support, similarity, coercion) and coping styles (problem-oriented, subject-oriented, and socially-oriented), as well as an analysis of the specifics of this relationship. The article consists of a description of topicality of the issue, a statement of the problem, a theoretical analysis of the studied concepts, a description of the research results, visual presentation of the said, and interpretation. In a brief conclusion, a description of the resulting picture is given as a whole and a conclusion is made about the correctness of the hypothesis.
