- Annotation: This article is devoted to the analysis of the main theoretical approaches to the problem of ensuring the continuity of the formation of functional literacy of students. Based on the analysis of foreign and domestic studies on this topic, the concept of ‟functional literacy” is clarified, the modern system of formation of the phenomenon under study in the context of the development of a child's personality is analyzed. The article provides examples of practice-oriented tasks for the formation of prerequisites for functional literacy in preschool age, the formation of the phenomenon under study in the classroom in primary and secondary schools. The directions of formation of functional literacy of students are proposed.
