Annotation: The article is devoted to reviewing the structure of readiness for professional activity in modern pedagogy. The article presents the main approaches to the study of readiness for professional activity. Based on the presented approaches to the readiness for professional activity, it was attempted to realise their conditional periodisation, approaches were structured according to the historical development stages of the study of readiness for professional activity. The psychological structures that are being formed in the process of studying at the university are identified, which are prerequisites for successful adaptation to professional activity and determine the specifics of the professional formation of the individual. In the process of studying at a university, professional orientation and professionally significant qualities are being formed.
