- Annotation: Training specialists in the field of upbringing is currently a significant task facing the education system. It is necessary not only to find new organisational forms of training educators, counselors, organiser pedagogues, but also to use the accumulated experience, including to study the system of training methodologists of upbringing work at the historical and pedagogic faculties created 60 years ago. The article discusses the system of pedagogue training, including the principles, organisation of educational, extracurricular activities, collective upbringing and support of student self-government. Much attention is paid to the special environment formed during the interaction of students of different courses, the personality-oriented position of teachers. The analysis of the faculty's work allows us to identify the key elements of the upbringing system, which had been consistently created on the basis of scientific developments of Kostroma scientists.
